Dr. Shelley Richards is a graduate of the University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Optometry. Dr. Shelley Richards has served clinical externships in primary care optometry, low vision, vision therapy, geriatric vision, ocular pathology, and contact lenses. During her externships, Dr. Richards treated patients at Sierra Eyecare Associates, Kaneohe Bay Marine Corp Base, Kansas City VA Medical Center, University of Missouri-St. Louis Center for Eyecare and Vision Reasearch, and the St. Louis Optometric Center.

Dr. Shelley Richards is an active member of the American Optometric Association, California Optometric Association. During her academic career, she was honored as a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society and recognised as member of the Dean's List.

Dr. Richards is a native of St. Louis, Missouri. During her free time, she likes to travel and spend time with her family.
